The Punishers is not a MC, we are in proses of trying to become a SC Social Club or SMC Social Motorcycle Club.
This is how our badge looks like from now on until we are legit.

THE PUNISHERS Motorcycle Club (MC)


Rules and Policies



The Name/ Colours
The club will be called ‘The Punishers Motorcycle Club’ (The Punishers MC) [TPMC] and the club’s colours shall be a black and white punisher skull.

Club Purpose
Our primary goal in becoming a Motorcycle Club is to:
• Promote safe riding, camaraderie, a common interest in motorcycle riding and the support of the riding community.
• Serve as a social and recreational club.
• Will organize and attend biking events.
• Develop a relationship between the community and other clubs.
• Improve the lives of our community and assist those in need.
• The club will run under the most basic of rules with common biking ethics and values being the guiding principles of the club.

Credence
The club will run on the basic principles of non-sexism and democracy. To encourage safe riding amongst young and old.

Headquarters
The meeting place for the club will be 45 Lincoln Street in Boston, Bellville - unless otherwise decided.

Executive Committee Members:
The executive committee consists of members who started the club and members voted in by the clubs founding member’s. Should a committee member resign from the club, a member from the club will be co-opted (to elect a fellow member) or voted onto the committee by the membership.

The Executive Committee is to oversee the running of the club and give leadership to the club. To promote the club and to ensure it functions properly by meeting all its objectives.

The executive committee will be made up of:
• the President
• the Vice President
• the Secretary
• the Treasurer and
• the Road Captain
• the Sergeant at Arms
• Four or two more additional members (they could be in charge of sub-committees eg. Fundraising, Riding academy, Projects, Rallies/ Rides).
President: To provide leadership, conduct meetings, call meetings if necessary, to oversee the smooth running of the club and to promote the club.
Vice President: To help provide leadership, conduct meetings, call meetings if necessary, to oversee the smooth running of the club and to promote the club. Stands in for the President when the President can’t be present.
Secretary: To record club meetings, send out invites and have a full status of the membership details.
Treasurer: To ensure the administration of finances, keep proper records, to fundraise, collect membership when necessary and to ensure the club is in a good financial state.
Road Captain: To plan routes for club runs and rides with the President in front of the pack.
Sergeant at Arms: Keep the order at meetings and handles clubhouse and club security.


Duties of Officebearers:

President shall:
  • Preside at general membership meetings.
  • Maintain order and require strict compliance with the TPMC Constitution.
  • Nominate, and with the advice and consent of the other members of his Board, appoint the coordinators and members of all special committees, and serve as an ex-officio member thereof.
  • Ensure the calling of meetings and keep the spirit of the club intact and intervene wherever necessary so as to oversee the smooth running of the club.
  • To promote the club by being the spokes-person and to liaise with the media, sponsors etc.
  • To represent the club at other biking meetings.
Vice President shall:
·         The Vice President is the second in command, and will lead in times where the President cannot (such as illness or incarceration).  
·         Stands in as President.
Secretary shall:
  • Maintain all books, documents, papers, and records not otherwise entrusted to special committees.
  • Transcribe all minutes of meetings and submit them for approval or amendment at the next club meeting.
  • Maintain a roster of all club members: names, addresses, telephone and cell numbers, email addresses etc. Keep a record of all members with badges.
  • When so required, will conduct the general correspondence of the club.
  • Issue a newsletter quarterly which will provide updates on events and developments of interest to the membership.
  • Perform other duties as may be prescribed by the membership.
  • At the expiration of his term of office, deliver to his successor all tools, documents, materials and pertinent information in his possession pertaining to the club.
Treasurer shall:
  • Be the custodian of all funds of the club.
  • Issue all cheques (together with other signatories) authorized by the club.
  • Keep an itemized record of the clubs receipts and disbursements.
  • Deposit funds collected in a bank or institution approved by the membership.
  • Execute all other such assignments as may be ordered by the membership or his President.
  • Oversee club financial books and report to membership monthly.
  • All un-issued Club Colors and Patches, as well as a record of colors, patches, or reproductions thereof issued to members.
Sergeant at Arms:
·         He may conscript members to aid in keeping order on their own authority.
·         He has the responsibility to the club to report any unseemly behavior of incident to the Executive Committee.
·         He is responsible for securing any patches or colors from any member who retires, resigns, or is expelled.

Road Captain:

·         The Road Captain is responsible for all club runs.
·         He shall research, plan, and organize all runs.
·         During actual time on the road or at intermediate stops during a run, he shall act as the ranking club officer, deferring only to the President or Vice-President if either of them are present, and only then for matters involving persons outside the club.
·         He shall supply the Secretary with any information required to notify outside agencies of impending club runs in a timely manner.



Four or two Additional Members shall:
  • Coordinate different sub-committees. Eg. Fundraising, Riding academy, Projects, Rallies/ Rides.
  • They will have equal decision making powers in meetings as other executive members.
Membership of Club
  • To be a full member you must own a motorbike.
  • Every applicant’s application as a member of the Club shall be proposed by one member of the Club and seconded by another member of the Club, and the applicants’ name, occupation and usual place of residence shall be recorded on the application form. No member shall propose or second an applicant not personally known to them. (But before becoming a member the applicant will first become a Prospect and will need to wait a month or two so that the club can see how committed the applicant is towards the club and the way of life!)
  • To qualify for colours, the prospective male member will have to be accepted by the executive committee and then voted in by a majority of the members. At least 51% of the members must be present. (This is done after the required time being a Prospect by the applicant.)
  • Should the conduct of any member in the opinion of the Club Committee, be improper or incompatible with the interests of the Club, or should any member be guilty of offensive conduct, or have committed a breach of the rules of the constitution or by-laws of the Club, such member shall appear before the Executive Committee and shall at the discretion of the Executive Committee, be suspended for a time agreed upon or be requested by the President to hand in his/her written resignation. Should the member fail to resign within seven days of such request, the Executive Committee may expel the member and strip his or her patch. The decision of the Excecutive Committee shall be final and binding and an expelled member may not be re-elected as a member of the Club, without the consent of the majority of members present at a meeting of members.
  • There is to be no fighting or verbal abuse amongst Club members.
  • “Outsiders” must not be involved in any dispute or altercation between Club members. Problems are to be brought to the Executive Committee and will be sorted out in private.
  • No “backstabbing” or “skinnering” behind other members’ backs is permitted. Have the courage to confront people face to face or take it to an executive member.
  • Honour the Colours you wear. The reputation of the Club is in the members’ hands and only they can give the Club a good or bad reputation
  • Any person shall, upon ceasing to be a member of the Club, forfeit all right to any claims against the Club and its property and funds. He/she shall return all Club badges (including pillion’s badge) issued to him/her and shall not be entitled to any refund.
  • The Club shall in no way be liable for any damages in respect of injuries or losses sustained by a member, whether due to the negligence of the members or any third party
  • Riders should be in possession of a valid motorcycle riding license or else club will assist the rider to acquire a license.
  • Any member of the club can be voted onto the committee at an meeting.
  • All new members will be required to pay for their colours before it is handed to them.
  • Although members pay for their colours, the colours must be handed back to the club in case of a member’s resignation or disqualification. The member will not be reimbursed for the colours.
Decision Making:
  • All decisions concerning the club, and/or its members will be based on a majority vote taken by the executive committee or if need be at a full membership meeting.
  • The president will intervene if necessary in the case of a stalemate.
Club Colours of the The Punishers MC (patch/badge):
  • Our patch is a white punisher skull.
  • Only black leather waistcoats are allowed, strictly no denim, other material or any other colour for the colours to be sewn onto. The colours must be sewn 120mm away from the top of the collar and towards the centre of the jacket. Only the colours or any other badge the club accepts, may be worn on the back of jacket. No other badges to be worn on the back. All other badges must be worn on the front.
  • The members name must be on the front top left.
  • A full riding member has the option to purchase a second set of Colours for his/her partner/pillion rider. The pillion will not have his/ her name on the front of the jacket. This member is responsible for that person as an affiliate who will not be recognized as a full member and will have no voting rights. An affiliate may only wear the Colours which have been approved by the Club. An affiliate may at no stage wear another member’s Colours. In the case of a members partner being a girl friend or a wife the colours must be accompanied with a patch saying “Old Lady”. Upon expulsion from the club, the pillion rider’s Colours must also be handed in.
  • The pillion rider can only wear the patch when riding with a member. That jacket with the patch must always be in the possession of the member if not in use.
  • The patch remains the property of the club, should a member resigns from the club, they may not take the patch or any part of the design with them.


Subscriptions
  • There will be no monthly member subscription fee.
  • Money will be fundraised at events or efforts sanctioned by the club which every member must get involved in.

Banking Account:
  • A banking account is open in the name of the club, and will be administrated by the President and treasurer, who are accountable to the committee on all financial matters. Name of account: The Punishers Motorcycle Club.
Meetings:
  • Executive Committee meetings will be called whenever necessary to discuss matters pertinent to the club, and are not open to normal members. Membership Meetings will be held for club members to discuss all current and new issues.
  • At least two full membership meetings must be held every year.
Rallies:
  • Most events in the Western Cape are compulsory events that members must attend if agreed upon by the club to go.
Charity:
  • The club will continue to engage in charity events all year round. This will be decided by the executive committee and membership.
Riding with the Club:
  • The club will always ensure members ride safely to and from events organized or supported by the club.
  • You will not endanger any other biker.
  • Members must always ensure all other riders in the club are safe and not experiencing mechanical problems. This will be in line with common camaraderie that must be shown at all times towards your own members and members of other clubs.
